Cancer Causing Foods To Avoid

According to the National Cancer Institute about one-third of all cancer deaths may be diet related. What you eat can trigger a condition or disease like cancer.

What are Cancer Causing Foods?

Many of the common foods found in grocery stores or food markets contain cancer-causing properties.While there are many such foods that can cause cancer, it is important to take of the following carcinogenic foods:

  1. Deep Fried, Barbequed and Baked Meats

    Cooking meats at high temperatures, either by barbequing or pan-frying, may enhance risk of kidney cancer.Grilled food has many takers for its taste but research has shown that preparing meats in this way – especially hot dogs and the like – releases a carcinogen called heterocyclic aromatic amines. Grilled/barbequed red meat changes the chemical and molecular structure of the meat making it unhealthy.

  2. Excessive Intake of Salty, Sweet and Oily Foods

    Among the bigger cancer causing food is high-fructose syrups and other refined sugars. Refined sugars and foods made with them can trigger major insulin spikes and feed the growth of cancer cells. For this reason doctors are using diabetes medication to fight cancer cells.

    On the same lines, salt is dangerous for its cancer causing properties. Excessive salts and chemicals that go in foods like processed meats, for instance,are unhealthy.

    Vegetable oils are chemically extracted, chemically treated and even more chemicals are added to change the smell and taste. They are packed with unhealthy omega-6 fats that have been proven to alter the structure of the cell membrane.

  3. Red Meats and Processed Meats

    Processed meats including sausages, bacon and hot dogs can cause colon cancer. Red meats are also associated with higher risk of cancer.

    The salts and chemicals that go in the making of processed meats giving them an appealing and fresh look are actually very unhealthy. Broad based studies have shown that consuming processed meat can enhance risk of early death significantly.

  4. Preserved Foods Such as Pickles, Jams, Food containing Nitrites

    Preserved foods usually contain preservatives, such as nitrates which eventually turn into harmful nitrites, to prolong shelf life of the food. Over time, the additives in the processed foods can accumulate in the body. The toxins can eventually cause damage at the cellular level and lead to cancer, among other diseases.
