Why should I buy HDFC Life Health Assure Plan?

HDFC Life Health Assure Plan provides reimbursement for unforeseen medical expenses and comes with following unique features:

- Premium guarantee for three years i.e. premium does not change even if you claim
- If you do not claim, Multiplier Benefit doubles your cover after 2 claim free years
- Offers Guaranteed lifetime renewability subject to prevailing premium rates and terms

How can I pay my premium?

You can pay your premium annually every year.

How Multiplier Benefit will impact my Annual Limit?

In case you do not make any claim for any of the insured member in any policy year, we will reward you with a Multiplier Benefit equal to 50% of your original policy Sum Insured in the following year. If you do not make any claim even in the second consecutive year, your Multiplier Benefit will increase to 100% of original policy Sum Insured. Thus your Annual Limit may increase to maximum of 200% of your policy Sum Insured in case there are no claims in two consecutive years.

If you make a claim in any year, in the following year we will reduce the Multiplier Benefit by 50% of your policy Sum Insured. Claims in two consecutive years will reduce the Multiplier Benefit to 0%.

Will my Annual Limit decrease in any year?

If you make a claim in any year, in the following year we will reduce the Multiplier Benefit by 50% of your policy Sum Insured. Claims in two consecutive years will reduce the Multiplier Benefit to 0%. Thus the Annual Limit which is calculated as Sum Insured + Multiplier Benefit will decrease accordingly.

Will my Annual Limit fall below Sum Insured if I make multiple claims in last two consecutive policy years?

No, at no point will the Annual Limit fall below your policy Sum Insured, irrespective of any number of claims in the previous year.

In case of family floater policy, which address will be used for the policy related communication?

Proposed policy holder's address will be used for all the policy related communication.

Does this policy cover the cost of organ in case of organ transplant?

No, this policy does not cover the cost of organ in case of organ transplant

Does this policy cover the Pre & Post Hospitalization expenses incurred by Donor?

No this policy does not cover the Pre & Post Hospitalization expenses incurred by donor.

Will I get the Hospital Cash Benefit payouts every day during hospitalization?

No, Hospital Cash Benefit is not a standalone benefit & it shall be paid along with the settlement of claim payable under Inpatient Hospitalization Benefit.

Will Hospital Cash Benefit be over and above my Annual Limit applicable in a given year?

No, Hospital Cash Benefit amount is included in the Annual Limit & is payable from within the Annual Limit.

Will the cost of Wellness Voucher reduce my Annual Limit?

No, the cost of Wellness Voucher will not reduce your Annual Limit.

Can I gift my Wellness Voucher to any other person?

No, the Wellness Vouchers cannot be transferred / gifted to any other person.

Is the Wellness Voucher is valid for entire policy term?

No, the Wellness Voucher is valid for only 1 year from the date of issue.

If I wish to discontinue this plan can I get any surrender value?

No, this is pure protection health indemnity plan; you will not get any amount if you surrender this plan any time during policy term.

If I am not satisfied with the policy term & condition can I return my policy?

Yes, you can return your policy within free look period. You need to return the policy document along with the letter stating the reason for returning policy document.

Can I get the loan on this policy?

No, the loan is not available on this policy.

Will this condition of 30 days waiting period will reapply every year upon the renewal of policy?

No, the waiting period does not reapply when the policy is renewed without a break. However the condition will reapply in case of reinstatement of lapsed policy.

What will be the policy status if the premium is not paid within grace period?

If the premium is not paid within grace period, the cover will remain in-force however cashless facility will not be available.

When will the cashless service be activated again if it got deactivate due to non-payment of premium during grace period?

The cash less service will resume after you have paid the renewal premium within the grace period.

What will happen if I fail to pay the premium within grace period?

Your policy will get lapsed & you will not be able to claim hospitalization benefit for any Life Insured covered under the policy. Claims that occur during Grace Period can be submitted to us for reimbursement if you renew the policy by paying the premium within Grace Period.

When can I revive my lapsed policy?

You can revive your lapsed policy within 2 consecutive years from the date of discontinuance of the policy.

Will the waiting period & exclusions reapply upon revival of lapsed policy?

- Reinstatement request will attract the following
- Initial 30 day Waiting Period will apply afresh.
- If the policy is revived within 60 days, only the remaining part of all time bound exclusions and waiting periods will apply.
- If the policy is revived after 60 days, all time bound exclusions and waiting periods will be applied afresh.

How much amount will be borne by customer in case of co-pay?

The customer has to bear 20% of total hospital bill.

What is eligible room rent limit?

Eligible per day room rent limit is 1% of Sum Insured for hospitalization in regular rooms/wards and 2% of Sum Insured for hospitalization in an intensive care unit (ICU).

Why should I appoint nominee if there is no death benefit?

In the event of the death of the policyholder any claim payment under this policy shall be paid to the nominee.

Will my premium increase in the next year if I make a claim in current year?

No, your premium will not increase as the premiums are guaranteed / fixed for a period of three years from the date of inception or renewal of the policy.

Will I get premium discount in case I don't make any claim in previous year?

No, you will not get premium discount as the premiums are guaranteed / fixed for a period of three years from the date of inception or renewal of the policy. However for every claim free year we will reward you with the increase in Sum Insured through Multiplier Benefit.

Under what circumstances will my premium increase?

Your premium may increase
-Every three year from the date of inception or renewal of the policy
-Addition of family member

Where can I get the list of network hospitals?

We will send the list of Network Hospital along with your Policy Document. You can also check on our website for the updated list from time to time.

Can I get cashless services in case of hospitalization in the Non Network hospital?

No, you will not get cashless service.

Can I change my hospital during the treatment in one hospital?

You have the prerogative of choosing the hospital, but the eligibility of claim will be determined as per policy terms and conditions

How does the Room Rent Enhancement work?

This is an optional benefit and can be opted by paying extra premiums. This is applicable for Sum Assured of Rs 5 Lakhs & above, for more details please read the product brochure before conclusion of sale.

Can I restore my plan after I have claimed and utilized it?

This is an optional benefit and can be opted by paying extra premiums. for more details please read the product brochure before conclusion of sale.

What is Room Rent Enhancement Benefit?

Room Rent Enhancement eliminates the sub-limit on room rent of 1% of Sum Insured if standard private room is opted for.

How can I apply for Room Rent Enhancement Benefit?

Room Rent Enhancement is an optional benefit and can be opted at the inception of the policy by paying extra premiums.

What is Restore Benefit?

Under this benefit if the Basic Sum Insured and multiplier benefit (if any) is exhausted due to claims made and paid during the Policy Year and accepted as payable, then it is agreed that a Restore Sum Insured (equal to 100% of the Basic Sum Insured) will be automatically available for the particular mediclaim policy year. The benefit is subject to terms & conditions please refer to product brochure for details.

How can I apply for Restore Benefit?

Restore Benefit is an optional benefit and can be opted at the inception of the policy by paying extra premiums.

Can I take both Room Rent Enhancement and Restore Benefit together?

Yes you can take both the options under the plan

What is the Minimum sum assured I need to take for Room Rent Enhancement and Restore Benefit?

Room Rent Enhancement can only be opted for Sum Assured Rs 5 Lakhs & above. Restore Benefit can be opted for any Sum Insured applicable in he plan.

Is the Room Enhancement valid for single life and family floater both?

Yes Room Rent Enhancement is applicable for both Single Life & Family Floater Option

Is the Restore Benefit valid for single life and family floater both?

Yes Restore Benefit is applicable for both Single Life Option & Family Floater Option

Will I be covered for the whole life under this plan?

Yes the product is whole life plan.
